ABOUT ME

Poppy Child

Birth didn’t just make me a mother—it made me something more

When I found out I was pregnant during the height of the pandemic, I expected excitement. Instead, I was met with a fear so deep it felt woven into my bones.

It wasn’t just the uncertainty of the world outside—it was the years of media scaremongering, the horror stories I’d absorbed, and a culture that told me my body would betray me when it mattered most. But something shifted when I recognised that fear. I realised I didn’t have to accept it. I could challenge everything I thought I knew about birth, and so I did. That’s when I discovered Hypnobirthing, and everything changed.

For the first time, I understood that birth didn’t have to be terrifying. It could be empowering. It could even be beautiful. I immersed myself in learning—how to advocate for myself, how to trust my instincts, and how to prepare for the birth I wanted. And then it happened. I gave birth, and it was like the Earth cracked wide open. My world shifted. My identity reshaped itself.

Birth didn’t just make me a mother—it made me something more. It showed me the raw, unshakable power of what it means to bring life into the world.

That transformation lit a fire in me.

I couldn’t keep this revelation to myself. Women deserved better. They deserved to know their power.

The Birth of
Pop That Mumma

Six weeks postpartum, holding my baby in one arm and my phone in the other, I started a podcast. It was raw, messy, and unfiltered—just me sharing my truth about birth. I thought maybe a handful of women would listen. Instead, I woke up to messages from all over the world—women who’d listened and gone on to have incredible births.

The ripple effect stunned me. It proved what I knew in my heart: when women are informed and empowered, they can rewrite their birth stories.

I trained as a certified Hypnobirthing practitioner and doula, launched Instagram and TikTok accounts, and began creating content that challenged the fear-based narrative surrounding birth. Within two years, my audience had grown to over 460,000, and my content was reaching 10 million people every month.

I also created Birth Box, a digital birthing program designed to equip women with tools like breathing techniques, movement, vocalisation, and advocacy skills—all grounded in a realistic, empowering approach to birth. It’s helped thousands of women around the world step into labour with confidence and calm.

Second Birth,
Second Transformation

My second birth was a free birth, entirely on my terms.

It was raw, primal, and electrifying in a way I didn’t know was possible. The intensity of that experience deepened my understanding of birth—not as a medical event, but as a transformation.

I shared videos of that birth, and they were viewed over 50 million times. The response was polarising, but it got people thinking. And that’s what birth does: it demands that we see it for what it really is — a moment that changes everything.

A good birth doesn’t just bring your baby into the world; it transforms your postpartum, your confidence, and your sense of self.

Why I Do
This Work

Every day, I see the power of a positive birth through the transformations in my clients. With each step of the Birth Box program, I watch their perspectives shift. By the end, they’re not just prepared—they’re excited. They’ve gone from fear to confidence, ready to approach their birth with calm and strength.

That’s why I created Birth Box — to help more women feel this way. Birth Box combines hypnobirthing tools, practical skills, and empowering education in one comprehensive program. It’s designed to meet you where you are and help you prepare for a birth you’ll look back on with pride.

I’ve also created The Village App, a platform to connect women during pregnancy and postpartum. Because every mother deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered during this life-changing time.

This isn’t just my job—it’s my purpose. Birth changed me in ways I couldn’t have imagined, and it’s my mission to help other women discover what’s possible when they trust themselves and demand better.

With Birth Box, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. You don’t have to approach labour with fear. You can step into it with confidence, strength, and calm—and I’ll help you get there.

Let’s rewrite the narrative of birth together.
